The Danes make news again.. with IPTV

You know   – if you really take a good hard look at the Scandanavian countries -they are really moving the ball forward with adoption of IPTV and other telco and emerging technology. This story is about Tilgin winning a big IPTV order for a huge Danish Utility Company – more than its size, it is highly influential because it controls a lot of how the lovely and ever so efficient Danes, get their entertainment game on. The interesting thing is that the utility company wants to push out next generation IPTV and now with the FTTH – they plan on doing this and rolling out HD IPTV. Wow, and some places are still fighting over subscriber numbers – does it really matter? Doesn’t it matter more about WHAT they are deploying rather than how many there are? We believe that the market can be measured by more than just total number of subscribers (boring!)- and knowing what is being deployed – to us, makes the story of full adoption of IPTV a more robust on.  We hope someone steps out of the IPTV tele prompter box and gives the industry something more to look at!
