Exciting right? Well it can be if written by CED Magazine - they have compiled the 50 most important trends, technologies and people of 2008 –with some extra sassy commentary, which we love. Read it and remember, its still Cable.  #2 and #6 points address Advertising which we just also talked about in the Tattletech Hot Seat with Active Video Network’s Michael Taylor and #19 points out that Active Video is onto something with their talent from TWC, therefore we can safely say that Tattletech was onto something when we did the interview. And of course, no list would be complete with a mention of the FCC boy wonder, Kevin Martin at #32, but we agree with CED when we say, he’s almost gone, so there is a light. – JLH

Kevin Martin: Federal Communications Commissio...

Well you know Tattletech has an obsession with anything the FCC does as well as their boy wonder leader – Kevin Martin. But today in Fierce Telecom, there was an interesting story on Congress and the FCC which always scares us. The folks in the US Congress, all 100 out of 535 of the loveable kids, want a vote delay on the intercarrier compensation issues on the table. But it seems that it might not even matter because there appears to be a lot behind the scenes maneuvering between the FCC commisioners, (I can just picture these “commissioners” as some old stately men in seersucker suits strolling around with pipes and straw bowerls) the FCC and Capitol Hill as to how the vote SHOULD go. Did you see how we emphasized the world SHOULD? This means that lobbiests are out in full force. The gamble? Congress wants the FCC to soften its line, and of course the FCC does not want to. Who will win? We are pretty sure it’s not the consumer.
